This course is for you if you are interest in learning Dutch or already are learning the language. You find it hard to listen to or hear the sounds we make, especially if we talk quickly. This course will help you to recognise and learn the sounds in a way that is fun, engaging and actually helps you to feel confident in your skills. So if you ever feel frustrated or overwhelmed that you just don't seem to get the sounds like the 'G' or 'UI', well this is your chance!
When do we begin?
The course goes fully live on September 1, 2022. Until then, after purchasing, you can start by learning everything in the intro section and already have a headstart with the course.
How does this course work?
The course is set up with all the letter of the alphabet and the diphthongs in each video. I have done this, because we already have the structure of the alphabet (which is the same as in English). You can choose any letter you want to start with, especially if you feel like you are already struggling with a certain letter or diphthong. You have to freedom to study and choose how you like! In each video, the standard sound of our letters will be taught to you + the exceptions we have as well, so you can recognise them when you speak or read.
Lastly, there is an ending section where you can download your workbook and listen to the audios. I recommend doing this after you've studied and practiced with all the available letters. In this way you can really measure your own progress. PLUS there is the opportunity to record your own audio so I can provide feedback for you and see where you might want to work on.
There is also a community where you can ask questions and chat with other students.
Lastly, there is an ending section where you can download your workbook and listen to the audios. I recommend doing this after you've studied and practiced with all the available letters. How much time does this course take?
There is over 3 hours of video material for you to watch. Some of them you may want to rewatch and practice as you go along and feel like some of the sounds don't go quite well yet. Then there are audios and a workbook. In total, you should be able to complete the course in a day. I do recommend that you follow the course in your own time that suits your schedule. You will see that continuous practice and repetition really does help with speaking confidently!
